Velocity stacks are designed to optimize and maximize air flow rates entering the induction system. BLOX Racing velocity stacks incorporate race proven intake technology into a product designed for daily driven vehicles. Composite significantly reduces the amount of heat soak absorbed by the velocity stack and then transferred to the air. The dry element filter prevents any sensors from becoming soaked with oil that is normally associated with wet filter brands.īLOX Racing composite velocity stacks are injection-molded from PA66 glass-filled nylon. Kits are dyno-proven to increase horsepower and torque. The BLOX Racing performance air filter kit features its "Shorty" 5" height performance air filter, a composite velocity stack, and silicone hose coupler with clamps. Overstock - Engine / Exhausts / Fueling.Overstock - Accessories / Exterior / Interior.PS: Engines above 2.0 liter seem to respond better to 3.5" diameter intakes hell they respond better to everything vs. I haven't dyno tested this but I'm pretty sure its doing a good job of ramming cold air with the way i have it setup. My wheel well ram air setup has been set like that for sometime now, but only recently (after the dyno) I nixed the 90° pipe and went with a straight pipe setup so the intake gets the cold air injected directly to the filter or vstack. Let motor cool down for 20mins with fan blowing on it.ģ) Replaced filter with blox 3" diameter vstack pointing towards the heavens (green line results)Ĥ) installed 3.5" diameter 90° pipe with blox 3.5" vstack pointed towards the heavens (blue line results) (dotted redline)ġa) intake left as is, retuned, new found power was jailbroken lol (solid red line)Ģ) 3" 90° pipe w/DryFlo filter on, pointing upwards for cool air inhalation purposes, didn't make much gain nothing significant at least, and iirc the engine was getting heat soaked. Love how open vstack instantly frees up 10+ hp/tq!ġ) 3" diameter 90° pipe w/AEM DryFlo filter on, pointing downwards as I arrived/street driving mode. Green line = 3" intake w/filterless vstack pointed upwards with some light tuning Lowered VTEC, played with VTC and fuel, but left ignition as is.īlue line = 3.5" intake w/filterless vstack pointed upwards with some light tuning Solid red = retune by Daniel, intake was left alone.blown away by the torque gains!! (BTW, this is my Ericks Racing RRC tune I've been driving on since '09) I do find my internally stock K20 engine likes the "short ram" pipe setup the best.ĭotted red = baseline pull as the car is driven on the street 3" intake w/filter on facing downwards soaking in hot air. I never got around to building a real staggered intake setup as to what this thread is all about. (2) a 3.5" diameter x 12" long pipe, couples down to 3" at the TB. (1) the same 90 degree 3" diameter x 12" long pipe If you followed me in the past, in '09 I dyno tested some common K-series intake manifolds and in those tests I also tried a couple intake pipes that consisted of my basic 90 degree 3" diameter 12" long pipe and a Password:JDM whale penis intake, which the pwjdm intake did pretty well but fits like doo doo.įFWD to now, I have 2 intake pipe setups I tested, So I have my own custom CAI setup thats a hybrid of a Karcepts intake system I use to run, shown below. I've never really been a fan of the CAI w/filter in the wheel well area, even though it rarely rains in Southern California. So I needed a retune being that the Z1 is. My original K20R block spun a bearing last november. While there, I wanted to test a couple intake pipe setups back to back being that 3.5" intake piping is all the rage these days for the K.įirst off, my engine as of 7/2013 is a stock K20Z1 block with stock K20R head, RRC intake manifold, skunk2 70mm tb, hondata thermal gasket, rdx injectors, Rcrew header, 3" mandrel piping. I was honored to have Daniel aka Palmerblock as my tuner. I went in for a re-tune over at Church automotive a couple months ago.
